Actually, when I saw this video get popular on facebook, I thought it was going to be something like a Harlem Shake in the classroom, or like, a freestyle rap battle with the teacher. Honestly though, when he started speaking, he had that rhythm in his voice. Am I the only one who thought this? Check it out.
Highschool is where we learn how to interact with teachers. If we don't know how to interact, to seek for answers, to seek for help or aren't driven to ask questions, University professors are going to assume we know it all so we need to learn that skill in school while we still can. But how can we if we have teachers like these who refuse to interact with their students?
Teachers also need to invest themselves into teaching students to ask questions, that no question is stupid. Students are only going to get as good as their teacher, and if their teacher is wack, then that's robbing them of their potential and future. If teachers aren't excited, how can they expect students to feel the same. Students and teachers aren't too different. They feed off each other.
Jeff Bliss, the kid who saw the value of interaction, was praised for his thirst for education. I praise him for his self-control. He could have flipped out, cursed at the teacher, yelled or hurt someone, but he was well versed. He chose his words carefully, tried not to swear, and gave his teacher objective reasons. When a student is mature like that, why would anyone want to kick him out. Nonsense. This guy's attitude is totally Hip Hop, haha, with the confidence and peace.
And I leave ya'll with this interview.
The school said they would've liked it better if he had reacted in a more appropriate way. But what can be more appropriate than this when something needs to be changed with such urgency.
