I tend to come across some really cool things now and again that has nothing to do with this blog. But if I feel like I can actually use these in terms of my life as a dancer, then I'm sure the average dancer will find their uses for it too. If not, I'll try and make you see how it will come in useful for you.
1. Salt and Pepper Cones by Labyrinth
One day during my high school days there was this girl carrying a huge road cone. It was hard to miss amongst all the uniform. Yeah, she was quite a strange one, putting it on her head and running around with it, but she makes a good point. Sick of having road workers leaving their orange cones tipped over on the road, she decided to pick one up and take it with her. I never thought about stealing road cones before until she did.
Well, if that's the trend then here are some road cones that you can definitely take around with you without standing out in the crowd. Not only that, but you can also bring your salt and pepper from home if you hate the ones in the restaurant. For a more practical reason to own these babies, just think about those moments you and your crew stayed up all night at the studio practicing then ordering food only to have it taste bland. Don't you wish you brought your seasoning and be cool at the same time?
2. The Dark Knight Bookshelf by FictionFurniture in Etsy
I'm sure most of you are familiar with the stereotype of street dancers being considered hoodlums who need to go and study more. For some of you, this stereotype might just be true... Fear not! A superhero has come to save the day... kinda. Here's my theory, if you have this awesome bookcase, you'll eventually end up buying books, and end up reading them - given that you actually buy useful academic books. Heh, it's a far cry to get people studying but it could just work (maybe). Unless you fill it up with *ahem* magazines then I guess there's no helping you fight the stereotype. For the more educated dancers this is just a bonus to liven up their room! Honestly, this is such a mean bookshelf. If not a book shelf, then a CD rack.
3. LEGO Build-on Mug
I don't think I even need to explain the awesomeness of this! LEGO is one of those childhood things we possessed that didn't quite die out. I'm sure some of you still have pieces of your old LEGO set. Here's an excuse to dust them off and use them again. What else allows you to be creative first thing in the morning? It might even enhance your creativity overall helping you on the dance floor! If a whole crew had this mug then there's no mixing who's mug is whose.
