In 2010, one of our local bboys, Ben Tafau, visited South Korea on behalf of the Asian New Zealand Foundation and underwent what must have been the meanest research project that has ever existed - researching the South Korean bboy culture. I would take a job like that any day. Jealous.

Ok, I’ll be straight up honest. I’m not one of Jay Park’s fangirls – it just so happens he’s an article-writeable kind of guy with a fashion sense I like. The other day I was looking for what’s new with my fave k-bboy crew, Rivers and I came across a Korean Assassins poster instead. It was for a party hosted by bboy Jotee (who we know as part of both Rivers and Korean Assassins). They have a new logo, which may be ancient news to some but to me it was still new and still strikingly fresh! I dig it.

Army Service Visit | Physicx | Rivers Crew | Born Update

It's not the first time I've been lied to by the internet. I was told Physicx served the army when he was much younger but I’m learning now that he only just got done serving in it. Heh. I’m glad the army business is over though.

While still in the army, bboy Rookie from Drifterz Crew caught up with him to see what’s up. We learn that unlike some unfortunate bboys in Korea, Physicx served the army through public service. This meant he still had the opportunity to go home at night and practice breaking if he wanted to. I heard his health wasn’t in good shape during 2010 so I guess it did something good for him eventually.

That's a question I often wondered. Why are they, other bboys, hating on Jay Park? "Hate" may not be the right word but the crux of the question lies in the fact that Jay Park always seem to attract ridicule from other bboys. So where did it all begin?

Bboy Spot | My Favourite Video

This is probably one of my favourite videos on YouTube. There's nothing amazing or special about it, it's a straight up informative video about the Bboy Spot's new home. But the fact they filmed their headquarters tour during the Outbreak weekend really tugged on my jealousy strings. I pretty much consider some of these bboys as celebrities. I don't scour YouTube for videos to watch, but I do watch some of the ones people recommend to me - and videos which feature some of the bboys in this video always stood out; they never cease to amaze me.

Jay Park Loves His MCM Bag

It didn’t strike me as odd when I first saw the Dirty Bass Choreography and Jay Park danced with a bag on. I simply thought he was being a trendsetter, you know - like it's the cool thing to dance with a bag on. Only now I've realised he had jumped on the bandwagon of MCM backpack ownership. And he loves it too because who the heck dances with their bag on oh-so-purposely, right?
