Taeyang Throwback "Where U At" | Shaun Evaristo & Lyle Beniga

I know it’s old but I reckon this video needs mentioning in my blog. It’s a crazy thought but once in a while big companies like YG Entertainment actually recruit choreographers through YouTube. Back in the day their scouting led them to dancers from Movement Lifestyle, most notably Shaun Evaristo and Lyle Beniga, who eventually choreographed Taeyang’s Wedding Dress and Where U At.

Sure Thing | I Am The Best | Ellen Kim

This post is an Ellen Kim special! Heh. Not really. It just so happen that she appears on both these videos. She's an amazing choreographer and being a bgirl first before a hip hop dancer (?), I wouldn't know much about her. What I do know is that I respect her as a dancer.

This first video is a throwback! When I watched it again today, I suddenly had this nostalgic feeling. Music is definitely a strong reviver of past and forgotten memories. It reminded me of that summer I had this song playing on my iPod over and over again, and making my way to our dance studio sucking on some popsicle; then jamming with friends until late, then playing this song again on the way home, lol. Good times. Don't know where some of those friends had gone.

Movement Lifestyle | Lego Choreography

I love this choreography. I find it incorporates really simple moves but the dynamic in which it's performed, that lax feel, totally adds to the vibe of the choreography.

Also, my attachment to this choreography is the fact that it looks a lot like my summer. All that energy needs to come out at some point during a hot boring afternoon. Why not enjoy it with ice cream, water guns, friends and especially, dance :)
